Funmi Fiberesinma Writes On Genital Mutilation, shares lovely photos.



I will never forget that afternoon. It was a hot day, and I was relieved that we had almost finished the shoot. I don’t even know how we started filming it, but we did. I will never forget the smell of hot metal,sweat, and then the metallic smell of fresh blood. I will never forget the girl’s scream.

R.I.P : Cancer patient Funmi Lawal dies



 I'm sure you all remember her. Funmi Lawal is the UNILAG law graduate who was diagnosed with malignant sarcoma, a kind of cancer at the shoulder region, who we raised money for on LIB last year. She's the same lady music producer, Don Jazzy donated N2million to. You can read more about her HEREHERE and HERE

Funmi's left arm had to be amputated in January 2013 to save her life...unfortunately she still didn't make it. She died this morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. The cancer had spread to her lungs and she had completely lost the ability to breathe without a respirator. May her soul rest in peace. Ase !!!

I’m not a spare tyre –Funmi Olayinka



For Funmi Olayinka, it is interesting being a woman in politics. It becomes more interesting when you are the deputy governor of Ekiti State.
“Politics for me, and I believe a number of other new female entrants, is becoming more interesting.  We aren’t part of the female politicians who were either marginalised or had no roles assigned to them. So, I will boldly say yes, I have being fairly treated not minding my gender,” she begins.

Funmi Adegbola: I switched to Law when I Got Tired of Working with Dead Bodies




Funmi Adegbola is the chief executive officer, Combined Training Solutions Ltd, a safety firm in UK. For the past five years her company has worked to ensure safety of workers and also propagate safety habits.
She speaks on level of risk management in Nigeria and the attitude of the informal sector, which accounts for about 60 per cent of Nigeria’s economy. She also speaks on the challenges of getting organizations buy into the life saving idea.
