Women Who Eat More Bananas Get More Sons – Scientists

Women can influence the gender of their child with what they eat before they conceive, according to new research that lends scientific support to age-old superstitions about pregnancy. The study of 740 women showed that higher calorie intake led to a higher probability of a male birth.
The discovery shows higher calorie intake prior to conception can significantly increase the chances of having a son while women on restricted diets are more likely to produce daughters. Scientists at Britain’s Oxford and Exeter Universities, who studied eating habits of 740 women during their first-time pregnancies, say that their findings seem to back certain traditional links between diet and gender while disproving others.

No more American Babies For Nigerian Celebrities

Hope of our celebrities who plan to travel to the United States of America to have their babies has finally come to a halt, as the new policy of Uncle Sam’s country may not favour 90% of them. The likes of Mercy Johnson who recently had her baby there should be thankful to God because she is likely going to be the last woman standing in Nollywood.

According to report gathered from Compass, the United States government appears to have tightened the noose on Nigerian pregnant women who have formed the habit of traveling to the US to deliver their babies. The women employ the ploy to ensure that such babies become citizens of the US in order to enjoy all the benefits of US citizenship.

However, with the new policy being introduced in the US, Nigeria women who travel abroad to deliver their babies may now have to opt for other countries other than the US or be multi-millionaires before they can have access to travelling for child delivery and qualify for automatic citizenship.

The Chief Executive Officer, R&S Consulting Limited, Mr. Olufemi Adebiyi, talks to SIMON EJEMBI about the importance of entrepreneurial training and the attitude entrepreneurs should have towards bank loans, among other issues.
Why many businesses are failing
A lot of people don’t know that many businesses are failing because they keep seeing new businesses on the streets. A study had shown, some years back, that only one out of every five businesses live up to their fifth year, which means four would have died before they are five years old. There are several reasons for this. What I have found over time is that the major reason why businesses fail is ignorance.

'Nigerian Models Deserve Much More’

Zainab Balogun was first introduced to the modelling industry at the age of 16, after a thorough scouting in a local park in London by Premier Models Management. After acquiring that initial modelling experience, she booked campaigns both locally and internationally, which landed her a show at the New York Fashion Week.
Beaming with smiles, she said her journey as a model has been a worthwhile experience even though it has got its ups and downs like any other career. “I could list the challenges involved all day. Challenges in modelling come with every job you get. If the problem is not with the length of your hair, it would be your height, looks, colour or something else. The clients are always looking out for something specific, which you may not possess.

Genevieve, Omotola: No more war?

Star actors, Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, may have finally decided to sheath their swords. In the past, the wave -making acts had been reported not to be the best of friends.
Although they denied the report at various times and featured side by side in blockbuster movie, Ije, those who are conversant with their no-love lost relationship, say the reverse was the case.
Not too long ago, both attended the birthday soiree of the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s president, Ibinabo Fiberesima, where they at least got on well with each other just as much as they did with other colleagues present.

A year of hits, baby daddies, break ups, hook-ups, failed careers and more

As we all look forward to 2013, Naeto C will be crossing over with a new wife and a baby in tow.  Whatever car he will be driving into the New Year, the MC with an Msc will hope that no one claims ownership of it. We pray so too! Long before he became ‘badder’ than Tony Montana — the track in which  he featured the Koko Master himself, D’banj — he got hitched to a model, Nicole Chukwueke,  in a glamorous wedding in July, which spewed enough scandals to last more than a year.

Prophesied That 20 Children Would Be Killed In USA, More Deaths Are Coming: Prophet TB Joshua

A video purporting that TB Joshua prophesied the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, USA has emerged. In the video, the prophet who spoke soon after the Colarado theatre shooting said more shootings will come.  "Pray for the nation, America. That massacre that happened in a theatre - more is coming - more, more, more. Pray for the nation. This will continue. This is homeland security," he said in August.  His church has released the video claiming that he prophesied the shootings in a small town in  Connecticut  where 20 children were gunned down. But many on social media have dismissed TB Joshua's prophesy saying it was opportunism at its worst since his so called prophesy was very general, speaking of more killings with no specifics.

Prophet TB Joshua's prophecies are normally related to catastrophes or deaths, and that has left many Christians with a lot to be desired.
