The Maybach Music icon is actually showing the entire world where he's coming from – Nigeria! Fans across the planet haven't stopped pouring in appreciative messages to the star from the time he posted the iconic picture. Super Eagles Onazi chassed A Robber down And Hands Him Over To The Police In Rome



Super Eagles/Lazio midfielder Eddy Onazi may be the talk of Rome after chasing down a robber and handing him to local cops, Sugar Sport Reports.

There is no way the Nigerian star would let a local villain escape with stealing from a Rome tourist.
“I was having dinner with my buddy close to the Termini Station and there were some tourists sitting next to us,” Onazi told Lazio Style Radio following the story hit the headlines.

Ex-Super Eagles star Chidi Odiah denies being a taxi driver in the US



Former Super Eagles defender, Chidi Odiah, 30, has released a statement denying recent reports that he now drives taxis in the US to survive after being let go by his Russian club, Cska Moscow. See his statement below... 
My attention has being drawn to the slandering news going round the online media that I was spotted driving a Taxi somewhere in the United States of America.

I am taking this rebuttal path due to the hurt that story has caused my friends and family members. With due respect to taxi drivers who means of livelihood are through that means, I state, emphatically, that I am not a taxi driver neither am I in the United States of America . I am a professional footballer who loves my profession and yet to resign from playing football.

Adenuga fulfils promise to Eagles



In fulfilment of his pledge to the Super Eagles in South Africa, Chairman, Globacom Limited, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr, on Tuesday night in Abuja presented a cheque of N160m to the Super Eagles for winning the 29th edition of the African Cup of Nations.
The event was held at the Banquet Hall of Dr. Mike Adenuga’s residence in Maitama, Abuja.
Speaking at the occasion, Adenuga said, “We are indeed proud of the achievement of the Nigerian national team at the African Cup of Nations. I congratulate the Coach, Stephen Keshi, the rest of the coaching crew, the players, the Nigeria Football Federation and the Federal Government for this important victory which has rekindled hope among our people.”

Guinness,160million Nigerian fans inspire the Super Eagles to victory




It was sweet victory yesterday in South Africa as the African Cup of Nations 2013 drew to a close! Guinness, the official sponsor of the Super Eagles can rightly say it successfully inspired the Eagles to victory in South Africa  as millions of Nigerian fans participated in sending goodwill messages to the victorious team. Recall that Guinness launched the ‘Fly With The Eagles’ campaign, to rally the support of 160 million Nigerian fans for the team ahead of the tournament.

Globacom boss Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr. last night gave the victorious Super Eagles $1million for winning the Cup of Nations. The government’s package for the team will be announced when President Jonathan hosts them at the Presidential Villa on Tueday.Coach Stephen Keshi got $200,000 cash from the billionaire industrialist who said he will take over the payment of his salary from next month. Adenuga announced the package shortly after the team’s 1-0 victory over Burkina Faso’s Stallions. Africa’s richest man Alhaji Aliko Dangote had earlier given the team N130million, promising to do more after they might have won the cup.

I still have two more years with Eagles — Yobo



Now playing in his sixth Africa Cup of Nations and having starred in 91 games for Nigeria — the record appearance by a Nigerian player — Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, looks ahead to the future, saying he has only two years to spend in the national team.
The Rivers-born defender has seen it all in the Eagles- injuries, criticisms, praises and rebuke- since making his debut in 2001 and moving on to become Nigeria’s most capped footballer ever.
“This is my sixth Nations Cup appearance and it’s a great achievement. I did not know that I would get this far in my career. I have had bad injuries and I thank God that I am out of it now,” the 32-year-old said.

USTENBURG, South Africa (AFP) – Supposed underdogs Nigeria downed favourites Ivory Coast 2-1 on Sunday in an absorbing Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final to set up a last-four meeting with Mali.
Sunday Mba grabbed the winner 12 minutes from time after Ivory Coast’s Cheik Tiote had cancelled out Emmanuel Emenike’s first-half opener.
Mba’s strike brought the curtain down on Didier Drogba’s Nations Cup career, sending the African legend home without the title he and his teammates craved.

Nigeria vs Zambia: Jonathan calls Eagles to wish them good luck, sings birthday song for Keshi



DailyPost has just received reports that President Goodluck Jonathan, a few minutes ago spoke to the players and coaches of the Super Eagles, wishing them well against Zambia today. Our sources say the call lasted for about 40 minutes, as the president took his time to speak to all the players. Interestingly, he also sang a birthday song for coach Stephen Keshi, who turned 51 yesterday.

The Super Eagles will face the defending champions on Friday afternoon, hoping to get their first win of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
