Question Of The Day: Why Do Nigerians See Girls That Smoke As Bad Girls?

If you ask me, I'll say I'm the crazy type. I love going gaga, I prefer my woman to be my type (crazy).
I like girls that smoke but it seems we Nigerians see them as bad girls (ashawo) but the truth is they smoke not because they are bad but it's just what they like doing. Afterall,  smoking doesn't bring a good interest except for the pleasure of time and moment or to cure emotional distress and cold.
But why Nigerians see them as bad girls is what I don't know.

Nigerians Go Through Hell To Obtain U.S, UK Visas and others. ( At Least They Should return Visa Fee if they won't give Visa)

The search for greener pastures in foreign countries is not an easy one, many Nigerians have passed through unpleasant experinces in search of visas to travel to either the United Kingdom or America. Blessing Ukemena and Kehinde Ajobiewe writes;

Nigerians Go Through Hell To Obtain U.S, UK Visas and others.

The desire to go abroad is quite high among Nigerians. It is looked on as a thing of pride to be able to go to other counties of the world especially the United States and the United Kingdom. Reasons for going abroad vary from holiday purposes, to educational, career or even medical purposes. Each year foreign embassies are flooded with visa applications to travel, many of which are turned down but this rejection does not deter Nigerians.

Many of them go through very unpleasant experiences just to go abroad, some have even been known to travel by land through many countries just to get out of the country. There are however, a few lucky ones who get their visas easily.

Data show Nigerians the most educated in the US

For Woodlands resident David Olowokere, one of Nigeria's sons, having a master's degree in engineering just wasn't enough for his people back home. So he got a doctorate.  His wife, Shalewa Olowokere, a civil engineer, didn't stop at a bachelor's, either. She went for her master's.

The same obsession with education runs in the Udeh household in Sugar Land. Foluke Udeh and her husband, Nduka, both have master's degrees. Anything less, she reckons, would have amounted to failure.

Worrisome: How Nigerians Are Dying In The Desert in Search Of Greener Pastures

Illegal migration is a crime which has sent many youths to their early graves. Yet, many are still very willing to subject themselves to it, not minding the grave consequences of such dangerous adventure. For some, they undertake the journey because of:

Their belief that life is greener outside Nigeria. Chibunma Ukwu sampled the opinion of stakeholders and writes that the menace should be discouraged without reservations.

There is no doubt that Illegal migration has proven itself to be bad in every ramification. But why do Nigerian youths still take the risk of travelling through illegal channels despite the efforts of the government to stop this so far? Little wonder stakeholders are expressing concern.

OFFICIAL VISA SCAM??? Britain plans £3000 visa bonds for Nigerians, others - (What Do you Think)

Britain is planning to force visitors from Nigeria, India, Pakistan, and other countries whose nationals are deemed to pose a “high risk” of immigration abuse to provide a cash bond before they can enter the country, a report said Sunday.
The Sunday Times newspaper said that from November, a pilot scheme would target visitors from those three countries plus Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Ghana.
Visitors aged 18 and over would be forced to hand over £3,000 ($4,600, 3,500 euros) from November for a six-month visit visa. They will forfeit the money if they overstay in Britain after their visa has expired.  Initially the scheme will target hundreds of visitors, but the plan is to extend it to several thousand, according to the broadsheet’s front-page report.

Secondary School Babes In Ghana Nabbed Having Gang S-èx With Nigerians

On the 17TH of February, 2006, the Ghanaweb published an article under the heading 'SSS Girls Sacked For Engaging in Gang s-èx'. In this story, ten girls of Mpraeso Secondary School (MPASS) were caught in a gang s-èx at a hotel and were alleged to be having s-èx with five Nigerians suspected to be drug dealers. Another interesting thing is that each girl received ¢150,000 for the endurance and s-èx skills. Therefore, if these men are HIV positive and there was unprotected s-èx between them, then each infection has been exchanged for ¢150,000.What a shame. Where is Ghana heading towards?
In fact this Ghanaweb article revealed to us the kind of activities going on in our various schools and the fact that young people are now lacking s-èx education or maybe there is not enough education on s-èx for this young people. At least with the upsurge of HIV/AIDS, I would expect my fellow young people to think before engaging in such activities such as s-èx.
