British Ebola patient arrives in UK for treatment

A British man who contracted the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone has arrived back in the UK on board an RAF jet. The healthcare worker landed at London’s RAF Northolt in a specially-equipped C-17 aircraft and will be transported to an isolation unit at the Royal Free Hospital in north London. The man is “not currently seriously unwell”, a Department of Health spokesman said. Health officials have stressed the risk to the UK remains “very low”.

The DoH said the decision to return the patient to the UK was taken following “clinical advice”. Prof John Watson, DoH deputy chief medical officer, said they would be taken in a specially-adapted ambulance to a high level isolation unit – the only unit of its kind in the UK.

LONDON (AFP) – Britain is scrapping a plan to force visitors from six “high-risk” countries to pay a cash bond of £3,000 (US $4,800, 3,500 euros), the interior ministry said on Sunday.

The government had been preparing to pilot a scheme requiring visitors from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ghana and Nigeria to pay the deposit for a six-month visa.

They would have forfeited the money if they overstayed.
"The government has been considering whether we pilot a bond scheme that would deter people from overstaying the visa. We have decided not to proceed,” a Home Office spokeswoman said.

Do you guys remember Patricia Etteh, the first female speaker of the Nigerian house of reps?!
Well, following her unceremonious exit from the house of reps, she's been keeping a low profile.
PUNCH reports that she is now a student at the prestigious Buckingham University, United Kingdom - she is studying law.  Incidentally, one of her course mates is the son of the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribadu. She is said to live in a posh apartment in Milton Keynes from where she commutes to and fro campus. Etteh had barely spent four months as the then fourth most powerful individual in the country when she was forced to step down from her leadership position of the House following a heated scandal over the renovation of her official residence in October 2007, in which some of her colleagues accused her of alleged involvement in corrupt practice.

Nigerians Go Through Hell To Obtain U.S, UK Visas and others.

The desire to go abroad is quite high among Nigerians. It is looked on as a thing of pride to be able to go to other counties of the world especially the United States and the United Kingdom. Reasons for going abroad vary from holiday purposes, to educational, career or even medical purposes. Each year foreign embassies are flooded with visa applications to travel, many of which are turned down but this rejection does not deter Nigerians.

Many of them go through very unpleasant experiences just to go abroad, some have even been known to travel by land through many countries just to get out of the country. There are however, a few lucky ones who get their visas easily.

Wizkid showed up on UK Daily Mail alongside 1 Direction Liam Payne

Wizkid celebrated his 24th birthday with One Direction member Liam Payne at a UK club a few days back, and for that reason, he made the UK Daily Mail website. Below is what they reported:
His band One Direction are officially the highest-earning youngsters in the music industry, and he took home a whopping £5million earnings in the last year alone.
And Liam Payne was evidently feeling very generous indeed on Tuesday night when he reportedly treated a pal to a bottle of champagne, worth a staggering £1.2million.
Dubbed 'the world's most expensive champagne', the kind-hearted 19-year-old is believed to have made sure his Nigerian musician pal, Wizkid, had the best 24th birthday a boy could wish for by splashing out on a bottle of Taste Of Diamond at London's Funky Buddha nightclub.
You make £5m in a year and spend £1.2m on a bottle of champagne? LMAO! Yeah right. Alexander Amosu probably also gave this as complimentary!

VIDEO: Girl Exposes Pri-vate Part And Bu-m On Stage For Iyanya During UK Concert

Singer Iyanya has always got many female fans drooling when he is on stage perfoming; it wasn’t different when he passed through the UK for his album launch campaign. However, this time it was the other way round. One of his fans left all the men present with their tongues out.
While in Manchester last night at the #Iyanya Kukere Concert, a female fan was called up onstage to give a bootilicious dance over one of Iyanya’s classical songs in front of multitudes of fans. She did what she had to do but ‘her dress was too short’ so that when she bent down, everything at the bottom side was revealed, or did she intentionally make that happen?

**she is my soul-mate and we love each other deeply. ‘It’s no one’s business as to what we do with our personal lives. A pair of Pakistani women have made history as the first Muslim lesbian couple to get married in the UK.
Rehana Kausar, 34, and Sobia Kamar, 29, made history when they tied the knot in a register office civil ceremony, then immediately applied for political asylum after they were wed, claiming their lives would be in danger if they returned to their native country.

I was born in Lagos, Nigeria in April 1985 and left Nigeria at the age of six when my family returned to the UK – my parents had lived and studied in the UK previous to that.

After completing my primary school education in London, I attended secondary school in North Wales, Penrhos College – where my mother and her sisters also were educated; and following my GCSEs I returned to London for sixth form when I studied and passed the Advanced Level examinations (A – levels) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Drama.

King of Swaziland wants to make me his (14th) virgin bride, says woman seeking asylum in the UK

A young woman is seeking  asylum in Britain after she spurned the advances of the polyamorous King Mswati III of Swaziland (pictured right) and refused to join his harem of 13 wives.

Tintswalo Ngobeni, 22, fled to England from the southern African nation as a teenager after she caught the attention of the millionaire monarch, a notoriously oppressive ruler known for his lavish lifestyle.

As part of Swazi custom, King Mswati III, 45, is permitted to choose a new bride every year.

Miss Ngobeni, who now lives in Birmingham, was just 15 when the King made his advances after seeing her at the palace of his fourth wife, LaNgangaza. She said she was ‘terrified’ when she learned of his marriage intentions.
