Chai: 95 Per Cent Of Nigerian Police Officers Fail Intelligence Test

Statistics seem to have finally proven what many citizens had suspected all along that many Nigerian police officers are incapable of passing a standard intelligence gathering assessment test.
Reports say out of the 5,000 police officers assessed for intelligence gathering, only 266 qualified.
According to the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Force Intelligence Bureau Solomon Arase: “Not every police officer can be an intelligence officer. After we carried out assessment test on the officers on ground, we discovered that a lot of them have to go.”
Arase said this in Benin, the Edo state capital yesterday at the inauguration of Zone ‘5’ Intelligence Bureau Ultra modern office complex built by W/ASP Patience Omokaro and her officers through community assistance.
“Intelligence is knowledge-based. If you don’t have the knowledge, you can’t be an intelligent officer,” Arase added.

Police Capture Murderer After Running For 30 Years

corrections officials have finally caught up with a parolee convicted of murder who had eluded them for more than three decades.
Richard Bradford had been living under the false identity of James Edward Heard and owned several properties in the Pasadena area, including a drug rehabilitation facility, authorities said.
Bradford was sentenced to life for first-degree murder in 1971, was paroled in 1978, and skipped out on his parole supervision in 1980, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said in a statement Wednesday.
Agents arrested Bradford this week, more than 32 years after he had disappeared, the statement said.
A false birth certificate with Heard's name was created in Alameda County in 1977, and a Social Security card was issued to him in 1978, both while he was still in prison, officials said.

Chris Brown To Be Arrested By Ghana Police?

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Cephas Arthur has reiterated the police willingness to arrest American R&B musician, Chris Brown.  According to him, even though he has returned to his country, the law which is no respecter of a person can go for him and deal with him accordingly; that is, if investigations prove that he was indeed smoking marijuana.

The ‘don’t wake me up’ singer courted controversy when he was seen smoking weed live on stage during the ‘Hope City Concert‘ at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium on March 5.  Many have questioned why the police didn’t do anything about it since it is against the laws of Ghana.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM’s news 6pm Monday, DSP Cephas Arthur, the Director of Public Affairs at the police headquarters said Ghanaians should not be surprised that the police service is determined to get to the bottom of the issue and to arrest Chris Brown in the US if found guilty of the section 5 of the Narcotic drug, control, enforcement and sanction act of 1990.

School officials called the Alton, Ill. police to intervene during what was apparently a bad tantrum at Lovejoy Elementary School. Nehemiah Keeton, Rickman’s guardian, said the cops treated the 70-pound girl like a criminal.
“Her eyes were swollen from her crying and her wrists had welts on them,” Keeton told us.
Rickman’s requests to use the bathroom were ignored, Keeton said.
