A King And Princess Cut The World's Greatest Wedding Cake? [Pics]

There were reports that their wedding cake might not be as extravagant as Prince Rainer’s when he married Grace Kelly.
But it appears that Prince Albert of Monaco and his bride Princess Charlene definitely pulled out all of the stops, when they got married in July 2011, by ensuring their cake came out tops.

The five tier cake was truly exceptional and dwarfed the couple as they stood next to it and prepared to cut a much smaller version for their guests.
Always keen to pay homage to her roots Princess Charlene ensured the cake was also decorated with Proteas, South Africa’s national flower.

King Sunny Ade, shares his life experiences in this interview with Punch's Adeola Balogun:

A lot of people might find it very difficult to believe that you are 67 with your looks; what is the magic?
There is no magic; I just find myself like this. It’s true people tell me that I don’t look my age and whenever they say so, I get back home and look at myself in the mirror. But within myself, I know I am old. Truth is, I don’t have any magic than to give God the glory for a good health.

80,000 bare-b-reasted virgins dance for king of Swaziland+18

It might seem odd to outsiders, but the best way to celebrate chastity for King Mswati III of Swaziland is to watch thousands of young women and girls – all of them virgins – dance topless.

Such is the Umhlanga Reed Dance, an annual rite that sees girls as young as five dance, chant and lay reeds at the feet of Mswati and the Queen Mother.

“I’m proud to be Swazi and to be a virgin. We are here to show unity with the king and with each other,” participant Gcebine Dlamini, 18, told Reuters. This year’s Umhlanga held on Sunday and Monday featured 80,000 “maidens,” theSwazi Observer said.

King of Swaziland wants to make me his (14th) virgin bride, says woman seeking asylum in the UK

A young woman is seeking  asylum in Britain after she spurned the advances of the polyamorous King Mswati III of Swaziland (pictured right) and refused to join his harem of 13 wives.

Tintswalo Ngobeni, 22, fled to England from the southern African nation as a teenager after she caught the attention of the millionaire monarch, a notoriously oppressive ruler known for his lavish lifestyle.

As part of Swazi custom, King Mswati III, 45, is permitted to choose a new bride every year.

Miss Ngobeni, who now lives in Birmingham, was just 15 when the King made his advances after seeing her at the palace of his fourth wife, LaNgangaza. She said she was ‘terrified’ when she learned of his marriage intentions.

Exclusive: The Story Of Two Rivals; King Sunny Ade And Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey

THE decade of the ’70s was characterised in Nigeria by Afro-fusion music, with the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti as the major inspirer. But alongside this revolution, juju music was also flourishing with Ebenezer Obey and Sunny Ade as major exponents who were perceived at the time by their numerous fans as archrivals. An intriguing aspect of this development was that the two musicians had their different styles, backgrounds and approaches, a situation which made this perceived rivalry a healthy one that added value to the emerging juju music of that period.
