The most disgracing state of our Nigerian Universities in images

Despite being the giant of Africa and being probably the most populous nation in the African continent, no Nigerian university is listed in the utmost effective 1000 best schools in the world. That is because our education system is just a mess. The deplorable infrastructures in certain of our schools have been captured in photos. Unbelievable! Please read the photo captions in green. We don’t sell our goods to Akpos – JOKES

Akpos went to an electronic store, he asked the
store keeper “what is the price of this TV?”
The store keeper answered “we don’t sell our
products to Akpos.”
Akpos again came next day by cutting his beard
and asked “what is the price of this TV?”
The store keeper replied “we don’t sell our
products to Akpos”.
The next day Akpos came with a different face
and asked “what is the price of this TV?”
The shop keeper replied “we don’t sell our
products to Akpos.”
Finally Akpos got irritated and asked the
shopkeeper “how do you recognise me every
time?”
The storekeeper replied “because this is not a TV
it is Microwave Oven!”

Adebayo Ola-Smith, Globacom (glo) Area Manager West 1 is still alive in Our Heart - Family.

**Bayo Ola-Smith, Globacom (glo) Area Manager West 1, Death Remembered By Family and Friends One Year Later: Forever remembered, Forever missed.

Exactly One Year after Globacom (glo) area manager west 1, Adebayo Ola-Smith was reported to have mysteriously committed suicide. (If you missed the last story click here). The incident happened on Friday, "Adebayo Ola-Smith did not commit suicide". The date our beloved Adebayo Ola-Smith was last seen in Globacom(glo) at challenge, Ibadan was 31st August, 2012 at about lunch time. It was reported that having received a call, he left Globacom(glo) at Challenge, Ibadan. However, did not return to the office as he pledged. His Globacom(glo) colleagues and the Nigerian Police force retrieved his dead body in his home in Ibadan on the 1st of September and transfered him to the mortuary. Adebayo was buried without any autopsy in Ibadan. Adebayo Ola-Smith was survived by his wife; 3 sons; 7 siblings (6 brothers, 1 sister); and 4 half brothers, several cousins, aunties and uncles.

The Nigerian Police Force  failed to ascertain the cause of death by following the sequence
1) Homicide
2) Suicide
3) Accident
4) Natural cause.

University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan exploited the situation by demanding a fee of ₦500,000.00 to carry out an autopsy only because it was Globacom (glo) that brought Adebayo's corpse to the mortuary. Globacom (glo) failed to pay the fee despite their involvement and the fact that they were capable of footing the cost of establishing the cause of death. The option was open for Globalcom (glo) to recoup the post mortem cost from the payout of the leftover of Adebayo's entitlements (comprising several multiples of ₦500,000.00) many months later to his next of kin but common sense failed to prevail in the company.

Check reactions from the deceased  Friends and Family after the jump break.

Dearest Ọmọ Oódua Readers: She Left Our Matrimonial Home For Another Man, Should I Take Her Back? -

I proposed to my wife in her final year in one of Nigeria Polytechnics. I gave her every assistance she needed till she completed her program. We eventually got married immediately she finished school and she went for National Youth Service while in my house in Lagos. We lived happily until she put to bed when her mum visited.

Meanwhile, since we got married things changed due to my low income. Immediately her mum left, my wife started behaving in a strange manner. She opened up to me one day that she’s quitting the marriage. Despite my family intervention, she was bent on leaving. This issue started since September 2012. To cut the long story short, a neighbour told me that my wife confided in her friend that her mum want her to marry the man that proposed to her before, she said the man lives in Port- Harcourt, that he’s not aware she’s married to me, let alone have a child.

Dearest Ọmọ Oódua Readers: How Do I Convince My Husband That He Is The Father Of Our Child?

My husband and I have been married for the past 12 years. Last month, he came back home from work and started acting strange. After days of persuasion, he told me he is doubting the paternity of our first child. I am very sure he is the father because I never slept with any man aside him since we got married. Now, I don’t know where all that is coming from! I am devastated here, help!
Dear wiffy,
It is pathetic that you are going through this right now. But not to worry, you would be fine since you are sure he is the father of your baby! Discuss with him, if he is not cooperating, advise him on a DNA test for the child! I am sure he would apologise to you after the confirmation. But at the moment, you ve got to be patient with him and let endurance take over you. All is going to be fine. Take care.
Dave.

We Live With Snakes In Our Schools – Primary School Pupils In Ogun

Few days before the Children’s Day  – the only day particularly set aside to honour children and lay emphasis on their education – Saturday PUNCH set out to seek the experiences of pupils in some schools in some rural areas. Of course, school children in rural areas usually have experiences that are different from their urban counterparts.
The pupils sat haphazardly, each perching where he or she could get a space. Those who could not find a space on benches with their little friends, took up vantage positions on the bare floor as they sang, “A for Apple, B for Ball…”

Top 5 Nigerian Producers That Changed The Landscape Of Our Music Industry

OJB Jezreel

1.     OJB Jezreel: With due respect to the producers before him, OJB gave birth to the modern Nigerian music. His peak was the production of African Queen (which is still one of the highest points of the Nigerian music industry). Of course tracks, like “Right Here” by Tuface (written and produced by OJB), “Searching”  and most recently “Locho” that was written, produced and sang by OJB himself, can compete well, African queen just seem to have eclipsed them all.

Good Afternoon Ma'am.

My name is Nkem, a student and a blogger. I'm a regular reader of your blog. I kinda need some advice from your readers. I'm sending this to you because I want as many opinions/ advice as possible.

I'm 24 years old, engaged to a 32 year old guy and both of us are virgins.
Before our engagement, we dated for over a year, and we have no plans of having sex before we get married.
We're getting married few months from now, and I think I'm a bit scared of the pain I'll feel on the wedding night, during our first sex.

”After Sleeping With Our house Maid, I Cry When Urinating”- 13Yr-Old Boy

I am a 13-year-old student from a certain School and I have been having séx with our house helper and I think I have a séxually transmitted disease. In the beginning of this year I had séx for the first time with her and I enjoyed it a lot. I have become hooked to séx with her and I often run away from school just to enjoy séx with her before my parents show up. Recently I realized I cannot urinate without going through pain, I at times end up crying in the toilet and have even noted a pimple that has some puss on my private parts. I am in so much pain and do not know what to do since I cannot tell my parents, they will definitely kill me. Please help me, because I can’t bear this pain anymore. Which drugs can I take?
