 President Jonathan today August 28th launched the brand new national e-ID card at the Villa in Abuja. The newest e-ID card that will be powered by MasterCard is made to also be properly used to transact and receive payments. So it's two in one, ID card and ATM.

The first phase of the project will see 13million Nigerians issued the card while the following phase will target 100 million Nigerians. The project is a partnership with MasterCard, the Nigerian National Identity Management Commission and Access bank. See more photos after the break....

D'banj visited Nyanya blast victims today April 22nd, where he reportedly donated several gift what to the victims and settled some hospital bills.

Based on the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the entertainer visited the victims at the Asokoro District Hospital, Abuja in company of the FCT Health Secretary, Dr Ademola Onakomaiya.

During his visit, D'banj said the us government alone cannot do all that's necessary for peace to reign in Nigeria.

Angry passengers block Abuja airport runway

Angry passengers on Thursday evening blocked the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, preventing planes from taking-off or landing.

Findings by our correspondent revealed that the blockade was caused by passengers who disembarked from an Arik Air flight that was meant to take them to the Margaret Ekpo Airport, Calabar from Abuja.

 The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, on Saturday married, Zarha, the daughter of a one-time FCT Minister, Ibrahim Bunu. The wedding “fatiha’’, which took place at the National Mosque, Abuja, was conducted by the Chief Imam of the mosque, Ustaz Musa Mohammed, who prayed for the success of the marriage.

Dignitaries at the wedding include Vice-President Namadi Sambo, two former Heads of State, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, the FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed, and members of the National Assembly.
