AIDS Scientists express hope for cure

With Nigerian children rated as the most AIDS infected in the world, this news from Malaysia must be good news indeed. AIDS scientists have expressed optimism over their search for a cure for the disease Saturday ahead of a major conference in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia with more funding and research breakthroughs boosting their hopes. Thousands of delegates will attend the four-day International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference which starts on Sunday in the Malaysian capital, the first time the bi-annual meeting will be held in Asia. Sharon Lewin from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, said funding for cure research had gone from millions to tens of millions of dollars per year.

“I think we are a long way off, but what has changed in the last three years is a realisation, that there needs to be a commitment (to this),” she told AFP in a telephone interview. “In 2010, at that time, very few people really believed it was possible… Between that time and now, there has been a major shift. There’s evidence that things have really been moving.” Deborah Persaud of the US Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, Maryland, said the case of the “Mississippi baby” that her team worked on presented a “ray of hope”.

I’ll marry my husband again and again – Mercy Johnson

Mercy Johnson is a well known Nollywood star in Nigeria, nay Africa. After taking a break from the klieg lights to get married and have her baby, she’s now ready for a new project – the Mercy Johnson Foundation.  See excerpts of her recent interview with a national newspaper, Sun.
You were at OJB’s house to see him and donate money, now you are here to donate to the Boys Reform Home in Lagos. What’s the idea?
No idea, we are just promoting the ideals of Mercy Johnson Foundation.  The idea is to identify the needs, evaluate and help in our own little way. All fingers are not equal; those in position to help should do so without hesitation. You will be hearing a lot about Mercy Johnson Foundation from now on. We have put our house in order and now ready to help those we can. I strongly believe that as stars we should live beyond the euphoria of stardom and the moment.  We will not always be here, what happens if you look back and realise you could do a lot to make the world better when you had the spotlight and you didn’t? I want to live beyond the moment.

Hmnn: Yar’adua Died Because His Family Disobeyed God’s Instruction – Cleric

National Secretary of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Pastor Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, weekend disclosed that late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua may not have died had the family heeded the advice to evacuate him from Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja three weeks before he died.
Kure, who one of the four pastors who visited the Villa to pray for Yar’Adua at the height of his sickness in 2010, said he told the Yar’Adua family at the meeting that there was the need to take the president out of Aso Rock within three weeks to keep him alive.
The three other pastors were Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith World Outreach, aka Winners Chapel; Cardinal John Onaiyekan, the Catholic Bishop of Abuja; and erstwhile Aso Rock Chaplain, Prof. Yusuf Obaje. The pastors visited the seat of power for the prayer session after Yar’Adua was flown back from Saudi Arabia where he had been taken for treatment for an undisclosed illness.
According to the PFN National Secretary, the Yar’Adua family shunned the advice as they were afraid that President Goodluck Jonathan, then vice president, would take over, if they took him out of the Villa immediately.

Real Reasons Tope Alabi, Prophet Ajanaku Parted Ways

It's no longer news that the father-daughter relationship between popular female gospel singer, Tope Alabi and her spiritual father, Prophet Ireti Ajanaku of Christ Victory Chapel International, Ayobo, Lagos has gone sour over irreconcilable differences.

Fresh facts have just emerged on what smeared the 13 years relationship between the duo. A very dependable source told First Weekly that part of the reasons for the imbroglio between the two personalities was that Tope was playing hide and seek with the acclaimed man of God.

Tope and her husband, Soji were reportedly going to the church whenever they deemed fit and concentrated more on their music engagement instead of participating in church activities as against what they used to do in the past.

Watermelon: The New $-éX Drug For Men

Men hoping for some fireworks in their love life this Fourth of July may want to skip the burgers and beer at the barbecue and eat plenty of…instead.  It turns out, watermelon may be a natural Viagra, says a researcher. That’s because the popular summer fruit is richer than experts believed in an amino acid called citrulline, which relaxes and dilates blood vessels much like Viagra and other drugs meant to treat erectile dysfunction (ED).
Until recently, many scientists thought most of the citrulline was in the watermelon rind. But now, experts have discovered that there is more citrulline in the edible part than previously believed.
Why does this work?
The amino acid citrulline is converted into the amino acid arginine. This is a precursor for nitric oxide, and the nitric oxide, a blood vessel relaxer that enhances circulation to all your vital parts.
How much watermelon should you eat?
A typical 4-ounce serving of watermelon (about 10 watermelon balls) has about 150 milligrams of citrulline.

Death By $-éx: 9 Sad Situation Of People Who Died While Having $-éx

There's unsafe s-éx - and there's lethal lovemaking...
We reported yesterday how a couple plunged to their deaths after the window they were apparently having s-éx against fell through.
Here we highlight some of the most tragic s-éx death cases...

Death by nip-plé clamps

Police charged a man with involuntary manslaughter after he accidentally killed his wife with electric nip-plé clamps.
He originally blamed a fault with her hair-dryer before changing his story once she passed away.
The police report in Craley, Pennsylvania read: "He said that they hook up clips to his wife's nip-plés and he plugs a cord into an electric strip and he shocks her.”

''I Spread My L-égs For Money And I'm Proud Of It''

Listen up. I'm a prostit-uté.
Yup, I peddle in s-éx and s-éxual expression. I spread my légs for money, too, sometimes. I wear red lipstick and high heels and talk dírty. Sometimes I wrap my body in corsets and leather. Sometimes I wear Converse sneakers and jeans. I run my show the way I want it to be run, and I don't roll over and play fé-minine fantasy mistress.

As a prostit-uté I rarely did kink with my clients, because my clients were kind of nervous about doing kinky stuff with someone who didn't advertise specifically for that. In London I ended up deciding that my ideal was to ditch both idealized models and be a kinky girlfriend experience, allowing me to do what I really liked: a bit of both. My job satisfaction increased dramatically with that assertion of my agency and my refusal to indulge the dichotomy, something that feels safe for other s-éx workers but felt stifling to me. In this
piece I say "pro-domme" and "pro-stituté" interchangeably to embrace all three of my experiences in the profession; of course, other workers' limits vary.
