Scholar blasts FFK -Destroys Claims On South West/South East history



An Igbo scholar, Dr. Samuel Okafor, has made one-time Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, look so small and uneducated by using facts and figures to demolish the claims he made in the controversial August 8 article, “The Bitter Truth About The Igbo”, which set off a storm that almost threatened Igbo-Yoruba relations.

CNN anchor and gun-control advocate, Piers Morgan, tweets in Yoruba



Controversial CNN anchor and gun-control advocate, Piers Morgan, tweeted in Yoruba, yesterday Friday 23rd, 2013. His first tweet was in response to a comment from a Nigerian follower who seemed impressed by his speaking style. He tweeted "Ese gan!". He also responded to a follower who asked if he had learnt his Yoruba from "Nigerian mistresses", by tweeting, "Kantan kantan l'eyi." Check out the snapshot of his tweets after the break.

Yoruba, Hausa Traders Clash In Ibadan Market



At least five people were injured and property worth millions of naira was destroyed in the course of the conflict that escalated between Yoruba and Hausa traders at Bodija Market in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday, August 16, 2013.

According to the eyewitnesses, other traders fled the market, leaving their stores open, with food stuffs littering the entire market. At the entrance of the market, a commercial bicycle was set ablaze while the owner escaped with minor injuries. A truckload of food stuffs was also vandalised.

Yoruba Actress, Funke Adesiyan Denies Alleged Marriage Plans With Sati Ramon



Last week, the story of an impending wedding between Sati Ramon, the wealthy socialite and gorgeous actress, Funke Adesiyan was said to be in the pipeline. The story went viral even on the social media but Ọmọ Oódua Naija Gist  can authoritatively reveal that the story is nothing close to the truth as Sati Ramon and his rumoured lover, Funke, have denied to have a thing like that in the offing.

Funke who is in Abuja at present shooting a movie responded that the story is fallacious, though, from the way we have viewed it, it may not be totally untrue that the two are having an affair but for marriage, we learnt, it’s nothing to be taken serious.

Former Minister of Aviation and one-time PDP hit man, Chief Femi Fani Kayode who took to twitter to prove he is not a tribalist by saying he once dated an Igbo Lady, Bianca Ojukwu and several Igbo women has come under heavy criticism.  Regina Askia Calls Femi Fani Kayode A Yoruba Bastard For Claiming He Dated Bianca Ojukwu & Igbo Women Former Nollywood actress Regina Askia has lend her voice to blame ex-Nigerian minister Femi Fani Kayode over an explanatory article he wrote about the Igbos yesterday.

Nigerian-born radio presenter at Sky UK and Ireland, Abike Ade, in this interview, speaks on issues relating to her acting career, broadcasting, her late husband and other personal issues that many don't know.
Although her situation is better now, below is what she told Punch about her sad past:
How has it been working as a broadcaster in the United Kingdom?
It’s been very very challenging.

How challenging? What kind of stress you go through?
The challenges vary. It starts from building one’s image, keeping it up and getting better and better on a daily basis.

So, have you been able to build your image to a level you are satisfied with?
The stress starts from meeting up with the required standard from fans, individuals and at the same time keeping with my duties as a mother. I continue to work on my image as one is never satisfied. I strive to continue climbing until I reach my best. My best is yet to come.

Fast-rising actor/comedian, Tayo Babatunde Bernard, popularly known as ‘Baba Tee’ in a recent interview speaks about his sojourn in the movie world and his marriage to top celebrity journalist, Yetunde Oduwole.
How did your romance with movie start?
It all started in 2007 while I was still in Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU). The English department used to have the Theatre Arts’ workshop then, and I happened to have friends there. During my leisure time, I used to join them for the workshops and that was where I developed the interest and I started acting along with them on stage. Then, I was also opportune to perform with the school’s Palm Wine Drinkards’ club. From there, the interest grew stronger and I had to move out to the real scene by joining the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, AGN.

Chika Ike Wins YAA Awards Best Actress (English) Award --As Lizzy Anjorin Bags Best Actress (Yoruba)



 Nollywood actresses, Chika Ike and Lizzy Anjorin have been announced winners of this year's Young Achievers' Awards held on Sunday, October, 14, 2012. The event was held at the Balmoral Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.

While Chika Ike was named as the Best Actress (English), Lizzy Anjorin was named the Best Actress (Yoruba) by the organisers of the awards.


According to Ibrahim Adeduntan, who is the CEO of the awards, he said, "aside Chika being one of the most sought after actresses in the country, she is a great achiever and whose love for the downtrodden especially little children in the society was among the reasons we chose her and if she continues with the pace she could still win the award next year."


An elated Lizzy Anjorin, who was gaily dressed in a black gown, dedicated her award to her late parents. She said, "as the only child, I wish they were alive to share in the joy of a beautiful moment such as this with me.


"This award also goes to all my numerous fans from far and near who voted for me. To say that I am overwhelmed is to state the obvious. I have laboured very hard in my career as an actress and I am glad that some people out there appreciate what I do."
