Chika Ike bags Award of Most Disciplined Actress of The Year 2013 (Photo)



Popular Nollywood actress Chika Ike grabbed another award, this time from the Actors Guild of Nigeria, which named her the 'most disciplined actress of the year 2013'.
She took to her Instagram page on January 23, 2014, Thursday, to share this achievement with the fans and to get congratulations by them.

Didier Drogba has won the 2013 Golden Foot award,he was presented with the accolade at a ceremony in Monte Carlo.The eleventh edition of people voted award, the 35-year-old follows in the footsteps of Zlatan Ibrahimovic – who won it in 2012 – and becomes the very first African player to scoop the prestigious prize.

Yomi Fash Lanso & Funsho Adeolu ’ Award Ceremony In Ikeja Lagos On Sunday -



On Sunday October 13, 2013, Nollywood celebrities and notable figures from all over the country will gather together at the Anchor Events Centre in Ikeja Lagos to honour two award-winning Nigerian actors namely Yomi Fash Lanso and Funsho Adeolu.

The two actors will be decorated as Emperors of The Arts come Sunday.

Yvonne Nelson Wish Her New Friend, Ice Prince, Success And He Won The Award



Since actress Yvonne Nelson and Iyanya, the Kukere master who only wanted her waist, parted ways, one of the few male friend she's kept in close touch with is rapper, Ice Prince.

So as Ice Prince left Nigeria last week to compete with the likes of Tuface Idibia for the Best African Act at the BET Awards in Los Angeles, Yvonne Nelson urged him to go and "make me proud ".In a "love" message she posted with the above photo, the actress said:

"Good luck Panshak [that is Ice Prince's real name]...#BET you're a WINNER....make me proud. Make Africa proud....my Hommie 4life...yeaaa he calls me Hommie. He's cool like that."
And, do you know what, Ice Prince made her proud as he won the Best African Act.   At the conclusion of your day, I am hoping this Aboki too will not just be thinking about her waist like the Kukere master.

Sanusi Bags ‘Africa Central Bank Governor Of The Year’ Award



Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has bagged the 2013 Africa Central Bank Governor of the Year award.
In a letter addressed to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria by the African Banker Awards committee, Sanusi was slated to be conferred with the award at the African Banker Awards gala dinner held at the Taj Palace Marrakech, Morocco, yesterday (May 29, 2013).
The letter noted that Sanusi has also “ensured macroeconomic stability, protected the independence of the Central Bank and enhanced many aspects of the Nigerian Banking including adoption of new technologies for financial inclusion; continuous modernisation and more transparent disclosures.”

2face Idibia Honoured With Oxfam Award





Africa’s finest artiste 2Face Idibia, has again added another badge of honor to his obviously crowded collection of awards.
The African Queen crooner was recently Awarded by Oxfam GB for his work and his contribution towards alienating hunger from Nigeria and Africa, raising awareness on current situations and mobilizing citizens to take action.
At an investiture ceremony that took place on December 13 2012 at the A-Class Park Hall in Maitama Abuja, 2Face, alongside Oxfam spokespersons Lami and Sound Sultan, were presented with a plaque in recognition of their commitment to the course of ensuring that the famine experienced in Africa recently is the last famine Africa would ever experience.

Chika Ike Wins YAA Awards Best Actress (English) Award --As Lizzy Anjorin Bags Best Actress (Yoruba)



 Nollywood actresses, Chika Ike and Lizzy Anjorin have been announced winners of this year's Young Achievers' Awards held on Sunday, October, 14, 2012. The event was held at the Balmoral Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.

While Chika Ike was named as the Best Actress (English), Lizzy Anjorin was named the Best Actress (Yoruba) by the organisers of the awards.


According to Ibrahim Adeduntan, who is the CEO of the awards, he said, "aside Chika being one of the most sought after actresses in the country, she is a great achiever and whose love for the downtrodden especially little children in the society was among the reasons we chose her and if she continues with the pace she could still win the award next year."


An elated Lizzy Anjorin, who was gaily dressed in a black gown, dedicated her award to her late parents. She said, "as the only child, I wish they were alive to share in the joy of a beautiful moment such as this with me.


"This award also goes to all my numerous fans from far and near who voted for me. To say that I am overwhelmed is to state the obvious. I have laboured very hard in my career as an actress and I am glad that some people out there appreciate what I do."
