In the year 2014, Nigerian youths who use smartphones, digital cameras, and some of who have probably flown in aircrafts, drive cars, being driven in cars and trains, who have refrigerators at home and most probably have access to computers, the internet and the social media....

...accused an 80-year old woman of being a witch, who had turned herself into a black bird and flown from Ibadan to Lagos.

They descended on her and beat her to a pulp.

They attempted to take her life, but were stopped by the actions of another aged man who most probably does not use computers or even the social media.

Founder of the Pray at the Pump movement, Rocky Twyman, tells Afro.com
"We believe that this couple is virtually destroying our youth. If you go on the Internet, you’ll see stories about how they’re both part of the Illuminati and you can see Jay-Z’s use of the Satanic triangle symbol when he performs."
"Jay-Z even declared himself to be God by referring to himself as Jehovah, and we don’t think that this is the image that our young people need to be glorifying.”
Tyman hopes his movement will catch on with protests in every city on the rest of Beyonce's tour.

A Zanu PF supporter has strípped down to her knickers and confronted the US envoy to Zimbabwe as he was about to address a meeting with residents in Mutare. The woman was part of a group of rowdy supporters who prevented the United States ambassador Bruce Wharton from addressing the meeting. Wharton was set to deliver remarks in the city when he was blocked by supporters of Mugabe's ZANU-PF party, including war veterans.

"The demonstrators prevented him from giving his remarks. He is very disappointed about it because he is very keen to listen to people's views, even critics of the United States policy," said Sharon Hudson-Dean of the US embassy in Harare.

Nigerian Student Jailed After Self-Defence Against Racist Attack

According to African Outlook, Olaolu Sunkanmi Femi (aka) Olasunkanmi, a Nigerian student living in Ukraine, got arrested for allegedly defending himself against six teenagers who attacked him. He is facing life imprisonment.

African Outlook states that he defended himself against his assailants with a broken bottle in front of his apartment block on November 5, 2011 in Luhanski, Ukraine.
Witnesses told African Outlook that one of his friends was physically attacked in front of his apartment by four Ukrainian young men and two women while hurling racist slurs on them.

Olasunkanmi would have managed to get up and defend himself with a glass from a broken bottle. “It was while he was defending himself that police arrived at the scene and the Nigerian was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted murder of five people” a Nigerian embassy staff who has knowledge of the case told African Outlook. The victim thus became an accused in a case which has become famous in Ukraine.

Olasunkanmi has since been remanded in detention by the Ukrainian police. They refuse to take the case to court citing unavailability of the police to get an interpreter for him.

Protest have been organized since. For more info please read African Outlookand other sources.

To raise support for Olasukanmi, a Facebook Page: Let’s Support Olaolu Femi  has been opened.
