The Igando Grade ‘A’ Customary Court had an earful recently when a 39-year-old female Police Inspector, Mary Igah, gave testimony in a divorce suit she instituted against her police officer husband
Mary asked the court to dissolve her 19-year-old marriage for alleged threat to her life.

According to her, Emmanuel, her husband, threatened to deal with her and before she knew what was happening, she found her panties and brassiere in his bag and she did not know where he was taking them.

Popular lawyer and politician, Tony Ehilebo, assaulted in Abuja niteclub

Young Abuja lawyer and politician, Barr. Tony Ehilebo, was allegedly assaulted by a bouncer at Klub Vaniti House Cubana on Friday August 9th. According to eye witnesses, Tony wanted to enter the VVIP part of the club called the Gold Room but was stopped by the bouncer stationed outside the room. An arguement ensued between the men and the young lawyer was allegedly beat up.   His law firm is now instituting a N250 million Damages Suit for Assault to person and Brand Damage against the bouncer, Promise, who is already wanted for questioning by the police.  Uyi and Lanre, managers at Klub Vaniti are also joined in the suit.  Barr. Ehilebo is the National Programmes Cordinator for the PDP Youth Circuit and the Buckingham University UK Nigeria Alumni Coordinator.

A customary court in Igando, Lagos, has dissolved the nine-year marriage between Emmanuel Adegbola and his wife, Olufunke, on grounds of infidelity by the woman. Olufunke also accused her estranged husband of always ràping her anytime she was not in the mood for sèx.

The court President, Mr. R. I. Adeyeri, said it appeared that the estranged couple was tired of the marriage and that efforts to reconcile both parties had failed.

 “Since both parties consented to the dissolution of the marriage, the court has no choice than to dissolve the union. “Both parties are no longer husband and wife, they are free to go their separate ways,” he said.

A 39-year-old female Inspector of Police, Mary Igah, had pleaded with an Igando Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve her 19-year marriage because of threats to her life.

She told the court that her husband, Emmanuel, who is also a policeman, threatened to deal with her, and that soon after that, she saw her pant and brassiere in his bag.

She said: “My husband took my underwear without my consent. I saw my pant and brassiere in his hand bag when he wanted to leave for work. I am scared of staying with him, I no longer feel safe in his house.”

Oprah visited Zurich last month to attend Tina Turner's wedding and while there she visited an up market handbag shop but a shop assistant refused to serve her, saying the bags on display were "too expensive" for her. The bag on display was a $35,000 bag. Too expensive for one of the richest women in the world? Well, The Oprah Winfrey Show is not shown in Switzerland so they don't know her there...but even at that no black person can afford a $35, 000 bag?

Oprah said she left the shop calmly without arguing, but that the experience was proof that racism continues to be a problem. "There's two different ways to handle it. I could've had the whole blow-up thing... but it still exists, of course it does."she said
