Tennis sensation Sloane Stephens, 20, once said that Serena Williams was her role model and she looked up to her growing up. In fact Sloan said her dream was to be the next Serena Williams. Then thementor and mentee met at the Australian open this past January and the mentee beat the mentor.

After then things changed between them. Apparently Serena didn't take too kindly to being beaten by Sloan and went from being Sloan's mentor to being her enemy in the blink of an eye..

In the latest issue of ESPN Magazine, Sloan blasts Serena revealing, 

"She’s not said one word to me, not spoken to me, not said hi, not looked my way, not been in the same room with me since I played her in Australia. And that should tell everyone something, how she went from saying all these nice things about me to unfollowing me on Twitter.”

“Like, seriously! People should know. They think she’s so friendly and she’s so this and she’s so that - no, that’s not reality! You don’t unfollow someone on Twitter, delete them off of BlackBerry Messenger. I mean, what for? Why?”

Malta Guinness co-sponsors Okpekpe International Marathon in Edo

It was all guts, sweat and victory at the inaugural edition of the Okpekpe international 10km Marathon, a first in itself to happen in the Etsako West local government area of Edo state. 

According to promoters of the race, Okpekpe Road Race was of highest international standard with route measured and certified by the IAAF measurer. The race was endorsed by the IAAF and the AAC and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), with the backing of Malta Guinness Low Sugar and the Edo State Government as major partners.

Singer Zara Gretti getting better; can now speak and walk a little

Zara Gretti has been battling multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, for a while now. The singer who could not talk, walk or see with her left eye left the hospital two months ago and according to her, she's doing better now. Lauryn Hill sentenced to three months in jail forTax Evasion nearly $1 million in earnings

The rapper’s lawyer confirmed via email Monday that Hill paid more than $970,000 to satisfy tax liabilities.

Lauryn Hill pled guilty to tax evasion last year and her attorney claims she has since paid more than $970,000 to satisfy what she owed. However, a judge stated two weeks ago that the rapper has only paid $50,000.

Grammy-winning singer Lauryn Hill has been sentenced to three months in prison for failing to pay taxes on about $1 million in earnings.

She was also sentenced Monday in Newark to three additional months of homeconfinement.

The 37-year-old South Orange resident pleaded guilty last year in the case.

Two oil marketers and their company on Monday challenged the jurisdiction of a Lagos High Court in Ikeja to entertain the N1.8 billion fuel subsidy fraud charge preferred against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).  The marketers, Mahmud Tukur and Alex Ochonogor, alongside their company, Eterna Plc, filed their application before the court presided over by Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo.

A source told the Sunday People that the 28-year-old royal has been telling everyone that the royal couple are having a boy and he is thrilled at the prospect of having a little nephew, the Mirror reported.
The source said that the whole family is excited about it and apparently Kate wanted a boy.
The insider said that the royal couple are working hard on baby names and think that they have it sorted but are not revealing anything to -anyone - not even Harry. The insider asserted that the close inner circle all know that it is a boy and they are busily buying gifts with a boy theme.

Ten killed as gunmen open fire in Adamawa church, market

A group of gunmen Sunday stormed a village in Adamawa on the border with Cameroon killing 10 residents in attacks on a church and a market, police said.

The gunmen opened fire on a market square in Njilang village in Adamawa state, killing six people before storming a local church in the same village where they killed four worshippers, Mohammed Ibrahim, the state police spokesman, told AFP.

“Unknown gunmen went into the village this morning and attacked a market square where they killed six people and then proceeded to a church where they shot dead four others,” Ibrahim said.
Nine people were wounded in the attacks in the small farming village, 230 kilometres (145 miles) from the state capital Yola, Ibrahim said.

A crazed fan stormed onstage and grabbed singer Justin Bieber from behind on Sunday in Dubai during the middle of a piano performance.

The 19-year-old Canadian pop star was performing one of his last songs, Believe, when a youth in a white shirt and jeans blindsided the unsuspecting singer.
Bieber managed to free himself and dashed to the side of the stage.

Months after opening his night club, PoP, in Victoria Island, Mavin CEO and ace music producer Don Jazzy has shut it down. Heard he shut down the club down after realizing running a music label is different from running a night club. PoP was shut down because it wasn't making money as expected. Heard some people will show up at the club just to take photos with him and leave. Also, some important people will buy drinks and not pay. Naija people sef. Lol. Well, he has shut the club down to concentrate fully on his music label.

Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, on Saturday said contrary to reports, the state government’s private jet costs $45m (N7.1bn) and not $57 (N9bn).

The governor said this through his Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, in an interview with our correspondent in Port Harcourt.

Amaechi described the allegations that he inflated the cost of the jet by $10m as unfounded and a figment of the imagination of those spreading such false information.

Of course, I do. Like every human being on earth, I do. Marriage is such a huge step, it’s deep. Marriage is the relationship that is the most difficult of all relationships. If I can’t see someone and say oh, yeah, I wanna be with this person for the rest of my life or even think it, I won’t do it. I say that all the time and people say oh my God, she said she would never marry, I can’t believe it. Someone that has principles, integrity, someone that’s kind, someone that’s funny, someone that’s clean (Chuckles). Very clean! Someone that’s compassionate. You see, it’s not about being tall, dark and handsome, it’s not about money. We would work for it together or whatever. My mum didn’t marry my father a rich man. So, I don’t put much emphasis on money; it’s not about money or looks, it’s about your heart and your head. Nigeria’s hip hop sensation, P Square (real name Paul Okoye), has reportedly abandoned the mother of his second baby in a London hospital where the woman recently gave birth to the entertainer’s baby.

A few weeks after welcoming his first new born baby in Atlanta, P Square – who is also known as P2 – had another baby delivered for him in a London hospital by a former beauty pageant contestant. However, this time, P Square has refused to claim paternal responsibility for the baby boy.

9ice Owes PHCN Electricity Bills Over ₦60k

According to source providing Stella Dimokorkus, Crooner Abolore Akande a-k-a 9ice might be owing over N60k light bill at his Ahmadiya Abule egba Lagos home.  Some PHCN officials visited his home and disconnected his light cables and after the officials left,a miracle happened and the cables were noticed to be 'reconnected'. 

The Phcn officials paid another visit to 9ice's home about two weeks later to probably get settled but were shocked to discover light that they didnt authorize. The officials stood outside threatening to disconnect the cables again when 9ice supposedly came out and counter threatened the phcn officials daring them to disconnect his cables.
