Since Munachi Abi came into limelight after winning the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria( MBGN) crown in 2007, life has never been the same again. Within a very short period  of time, Muna, as she is fondly called by her admirers became a household name especially when she emerged one of the  formidable female  artistes in the Nigerian entertainment scene, floating  her own record label company called, No Koncience. But  while Muna’s  profile was constantly on the rise, so did the number of controversies trailing her.

From her rumoured ‘love affair’ with Peter Okoye, one half of the superstar  duo, P-Square, to her public dispute and reconciliation with rapper, Mode 9, Muna fluctuated between popularity and notoriety. Infidelity is perhaps as old as marriage. All of the prisoners at Virginia’s Richmond City Jail admit they made poor choices, and could be better fathers. “I am definitely failing as a parent right now, just by being out of her life,” Ronnell Glasgow said. A few examples: Julian Edwards is serving four years for drug distribution, Joey Atkins is awaiting trial for illegal gun possession, and Glasgow is serving seven years for selling drugs. Most of the men are in their 20s and 30s.

Gerald Ward is awaiting trial for guns and drug charges. He told us his daughter is only four. “But it’s amazing what she understands. She understand that Daddy did something wrong, ” he says. As these troubled men serve out their sentences, their children pay a price –  often spending the most important years of their lives without active father figures.

The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill is due to complete its final stages through Parliament this summer. But updated guidance issued in ‘explanatory notes’ reveals the baffling explanation of how ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ will become interchangeable. It comes as part of the Government's initiative to “clarify” what words will mean when g-ay marriages become lawful. But critics described it as the vocabulary of “cloud cuckoo land”. A spokesman for the Coalition for Marriage, which campaigns against the change, said: “We always knew the Government would tie itself in knots trying to redefine marriage, and this shows what a ridiculous mess they’ve created”.

Junior Secondary School Pupils Caught Donating Blood For N1500 In Lagos ( What Do You Think?)

About nine junior secondary school students were on Tuesday, caught donating blood illegally to one Mr. Sola in Agege area of Lagos.

It was learnt that members of the community noticed the unusual visit of some students to a certain shop located on Owoloabi Omotoye street, Orile Agege, during and after school hours which prompted a little investigation.

The investigations revealed that the students had been donating their blood for money.

One of the students nabbed at the shop and simply identified as Emeka, a JSS2 pupil, confessed to donating his blood thrice for the sum of N1, 500 on each occasion with Sola asking them “not to tell anyone about it.”

Man missing for almost 3 decades found in bank chimney

A man missing for 27 years has finally been located, according to police reports. The remains of Joseph Schexnider, lost for 27 years, were finally discovered lodged in a brick chimney in the Abbeville National Bank in Louisiana.

The bones were found when the bank was making renovations on the second floor, which had been long used for storage, to make more office space. The identity of the body was confirmed through DNA.  "This was absolutely the first chimney recovery we've had," Mary Manhein, who is the head of FACES, the lab of Louisiana State University who identified Schexnider’s bones, told the press.  There were no dental records available so that the laboratory had to base results on DNA evidence after police obtained a reference sample from the Schexnider family, who lives in the area.  "I would say he died a few days maximum after he entered the chimney," Manhein said. “But as for the way he died, or why he was in the chimney, is up for speculation,” Manhein said. "No one will ever know," she added. Police found a pair of gloves in the chimney, but one can only speculate on its meaning.

Overnight Raid: 52 Nigerians Raided In Malaysia, Now Awaiting Deportation

In what was described as a midnight raid by the Malaysia Immigration Police, 52 Nigerians have been arrested and are now awaiting deportation.

According to reports, the Immigration police raided houses that were occupied by Nigerians, and properties were destroyed in the process. Clothed or unclad, the Nigerians who were unfortunate enough to be at home during the raid were arrested. Although it was reported that those who weren't home had their houses ransacked and vandalised. 

NFL star Aaron Hernandez arrested and charged with murder

23 year old New England Patriot tight end Aaron Hernandez was arrested yesterday Wednesday June 26th  at his mansion in Massachusetts in connection with the murder of another player whose body was found near his home.

The body of 27 year old former semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd was found on June 17th in an industrial park a mile from Hernandez's house. Police say he had been shot multiple times in the groin, back and chest. Hernandez has since been remanded into custody without bail.
