Fast-rising actor/comedian, Tayo Babatunde Bernard, popularly known as ‘Baba Tee’ in a recent interview speaks about his sojourn in the movie world and his marriage to top celebrity journalist, Yetunde Oduwole.

How did your romance with movie start?

It all started in 2007 while I was still in Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU). The English department used to have the Theatre Arts’ workshop then, and I happened to have friends there. During my leisure time, I used to join them for the workshops and that was where I developed the interest and I started acting along with them on stage. Then, I was also opportune to perform with the school’s Palm Wine Drinkards’ club. From there, the interest grew stronger and I had to move out to the real scene by joining the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, AGN.

Airline vows to hire slim female flight attendants in order to save on fuel costs

(Scroll down for video) An airline  announced that it will only be hiring slim female crew members in orderto save on fuel costs, according to a statement released by GoAir in India.  While some airlines admit that they hire women for their sex appeal, the budget carrier GoAir has said that it will be hiring predominantly female flight attendants in the future, as they are 40 pounds lighter than the average man. The airline estimates that every extra pound costs them $0.05 per flight hour, and the new policy will save up to $500,000 per year.

GoAir also confirmed that it would be looking at other weight reduction initiatives.
“The size of the in-flight magazines have been reduced,” GoAir CEO Giorgio De Roni said. “The water tanks are no longer filled to capacity, as only 35 percent to 40 percent of water is actually used,” the CEO also said.

Georgia Police said that a man from Athens, who loves women with large behinds, got into trouble early Monday morning. The man told police that he was stabbed in the back by a man, who was angry that he was flirting with a woman, according to Athens-Clarke police. The victim told police that he was attracted to the woman because of her big behind.

Police were called to the Athens Regional Medical Center shortly before 1:30 am on a report that medical staff treated a man with a stab wound.

In this interview by OSEYIZA OOGBODO, he reveals that one of the expectations, his debut album, is finally dropping this month. He also spoke about his testy relationship with Olu Maintain.

How did you get the inspiration for your smash hit, Alaye?

Alaye came about when I and my brother, Puffy Tee, were in the studio working with Young D. And after recording about four songs with Young D, I asked him to give me a standard beat and he did and I had to do something good with it and what I did was Alaye and everybody loved it.

What is Alaye all about?

Alaye is like your personal person, someone you look up to, like your boss, you know. And I’m very happy with it because it’s a big song just like my Follow Follow featuring P-Square so it means I’m moving forward in my career.

Ejike Nkennachor is a 30-year-old robbery suspect. He shocked police detectives in Lagos when he narrated how he masterminded a prison break at the Maximum Prisons, Shagamu, Ogun State, to form a notorious robbery gang that specialises in snatching exotic cars.

“When I was arrested in 2008 at the state Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for car snatching, I was charged to court but members of my family paid money to a lawyer that secured my release.

I spent only four months at the Ikoyi prison and my case was discharged for want of evidence. After my release, I went back to car snatching because I know my family will always come for me. I did it for some time and I snatched several exotic cars including a Mercedes Benz car that was valued around N12 million but I sold it for N800,000 to my receiver at Asaba, Delta State.

A teenage boy who s-exually abused his little sister while babysitting had been watching online P0*n.

The 17-year-old repeatedly seriously abused the four-year-old child until the victim eventually told their mother what he had been doing.  She reported her son to the police and when interviewed the boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, admitted his behaviour had been ‘disgusting and loathsome’.

Sentencing the youth, who is now 18, to three and a half years detention Judge Mark Brown described him as an intelligent young man who had known what he was doing was wrong.

OJB divides entertainment industry

The OJB saga is definitely the biggest news in the entertainment industry right now.  Every day, it keeps throwing up new twists to the tale. For instance, it was a shock to some that Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim could have accused him of trying to raise more money than he needs for a kidney transplant. He has however replied her by saying that he needs more than the actual cost of treatment so that he won’t have to start soliciting for funds again during his recuperation.

The biggest twist in the tale, however, is that of the alleged donations by some entertainers. While it has been widely publicised that some entertainers have donated money, OJB’s fundraising campaigners have said they didn’t donate and that their refusal to refute the rumours is making other possible helpers back off.

All around Abule Egba area of Lagos, they call him Okuta (Stone). But his real names are Oluwasegun Kokumo Raji. The fear of Okuta in that area and in the Lagos underworld of the 80s and 90s was the beginning of wisdom. He was feared and practically revered. But today he is an evangelist. Okuta, in this interview, took KAYODE FALADE through his past of ignominy, the brutal and ruthless world of the underworld and his final battle. Excerpts:

I had been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and I found myself in the Jos prison. There I began my sentence. But after a while, I thought about it: would I spend the next 10 years of my life in this hole? There and then the seed of escape started germinating in my mind. There were about eight gangs in the Jos Prisons then. They were the firewood gang, lavatory gang, the grass cutting gang, the kitchen gang – which I belonged to and others.

You would notice that wells are usually sunk very near the fence. This was also the case in the Jos prison then too. After sometime that I had been contemplating escape, I decided to share my thoughts with a slightly elderly inmate. He was serving life for illegal mining.

Shameless: Woman In custody for having $-èx with her best friend’s 13 Year old son [PICTURED]

A Woman betrayed her best friend by having s-èx with her young son while he was in her care.   Amanda Wilson, from Belchertown, Massachusetts, was arrested for allegedly having s-èx with her best friend’s 13-year-old son.  Prosecutors say that Wilson, age 27, had s-èx with the boy at her home on several occasions, while he was left in her care, when his mother was at work or visiting relatives. 

Some of the alleged s-exual encounters took place when the boy's family was out of the country and he was staying with Wilson.  Wilson was arrested on four counts of aggravated s-exual violation of a child. She has pleaded not guilty to having s-èx with a minor.  Wilson's lawyer says she is not a flight risk and has no criminal record. Wilson was released without bond. The judge ordered her to stay away from the 13-year-old boy, and she may not have any unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16.

Two teenagers are in trouble for urinating in a container and using it to bake cupcakes, then serving it to their classmates.  The teenagers, from Enrico Fermi high school in Connecticut, could be facing criminal charges after they brought cupcakes to school and handed it out to students, while eating some themselves.  “They gave cupcakes to students who they don’t like," a student from the high school said.  Thankfully, no one needed medical attention as a result of the secret ingredient. But many of the students were “feeling sick” after learning that the cupcake they so graciously received two days in a row, was contaminated with urine.  The truth was revealed after one of the girls who baked the cupcakes told her friend about the secret ingredient. That friend decided that she had to warn the other students. She let everyone know to stay away from the cupcakes.  Some parents are calling for the two girls to be expelled from school. TRAGEDY: Man shoots his daughter while trying to kill her boyfriend [PHOTO]

A man shot his daughter while wanting to kill his daughter's boyfriend, in accordance with police reports.  The lady was shot accidentally by her father as he pointed the gun at her boyfriend within a dispute in the household home, his defense attorney told the court.  Dante D. White, 49, was arrested after his daughter, 25, was shot in the arm at his house St. Austin, Chicago, on the weekend.

White was associated with a quarrel with his daughter's boyfriend and ordered him to leave the household home, Cook County Bond Court heard. The daughter of White was shot as she stepped between her father and her boyfriend, a Chicago Police told news reporters.  Police were called to the address in St. Austin, on the West Side of Chicago, Illinois, at 2:00 pm on Saturday. The daughter was taken up to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was reported to stay stable condition.

This is to inform the general public and interested/eligible candidates of the commencement of registration for 2013/2014 OOU  Post UTME screening for admission into the University for the 2013/2014 Academic session. The registration form for the screening is now available online on the official OOU portal. Candidates who have chosen Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU in the 2013 UTME as either first choice or second choice are eligible to register for OOU 2013 Post UTME.

Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State will conduct a Post-UTME (PUTME) Screening for candidates who wish to be admitted into the University for  2013/2014 Academic year.  The screening shall be conducted between Monday 22nd and Friday 26th July, 2013.

Nigerian Billionaire, Jimoh Ibrahim Barred From Speaking At Anti-Corruption Conference

The billionaire was accused of corruption by a civil society group.

According to the reports, embattled owner of Air Nigeria, Jimoh Ibrahim, was not allowed to speak at an anti-corruption conference organised by the Central Bank of Nigeria in conjunction with the Nigerian Police and the London Metropolitan Police.

A civil society group, Civil Society Network Against Corruption (CSNAC), had petitioned the British Government not to allow Mr. Ibrahim speak at the conference, in which he had been pencilled down as a speaker.

The world’s largest building has opened in China capable of fitting 20 Sydney Opera Houses – or three Pentagons – inside.  The New Century Global Center in Chengdu, Sichuan province, is a staggering 19million sq.ft. and contains shopping centres, a Mediterranean village, a water park, an ice-skating rink, and multiple hotels. However, visitors to the glass paneled building need not worry about the weather as the giant complex will have its own artificial sun.

The building is 500 metres long, 400 metres wide and 100 metres high, reports said. According to Chinese officials, the New Century Global Center is the largest freestanding building in the world, and took three years to complete.   ‘This is an ocean city built by man,’ Chinese guide Liu Xun told AFP.

He added that the artificial sun built inside the building will provide light and heat 24 hours a day for shoppers exploring the around 400,000 sq. metres of boutiques and stores.

Police parade ga-y pastor for alleged rap-e of member

THE Edo State Police Command, yesterday, paraded 26 suspected criminals including a pastor identified as Philips Ogbebor, alleged to have had carnal knowledge of a 20-year-old male member of his church (names withheld).

After the act, the pastor allegedly threatened to kill his victim if he disclosed the act to the public.
Speaking to Vanguard, Pastor Ogbebor simply said: “God will judge, go and talk to others” and kept on mumbling.

Hehe: Man locks head in cage to quit smoking (PHOTO)

Call it extreme, but some people will go to unimaginable lengths to quit smoking. A Turkish man has resorted to locking his face in a cage to prevent him from smoking.

Turkey's ‘Hurriyet' newspaper on Tuesday reported that Ibrahim, 42, from the country's western province of Kutayha, made a helmet-shaped cage and locked his head in it in a bid to stop himself from smoking.

He then gave one its two keys to his son and the other to his wife so he cannot open the helmet to smoke when outside the home.

Ibrahim said he is trying to shake off the habit of smoking two packs of cigarettes a day, which he has been doing for 26 years. The newspaper reported that he donned the helmet two days ago, and has not smoked a cigarette since then.

Well, good luck to him.

 In May, we all heard that Paul Okoye, the other half of singing sensation P-Square, had welcomed a baby with 19 year old MBGN 2012 contestant, Elshama Igbanoi.  Paul Okoye has never reacted to the story in the press...to either confirm or deny that he is indeed the little boy's father. The boy was born April 7th in the UK, four days before Paul and his girlfriend Anita welcomed their son, Andre, in Atlanta.  Paul at the time told the Igbanoi family that he's going to do a DNA test to ascertain paternity. Maybe he's done it because he has officially acknowledged the boy as his.
